Farmstay FAQs
A complete overnight retreat for your dog
Is FarmStay a better alternative to a traditional boarding kennel?
For many dogs, yes.
Traditional boarding kennels typically focus on providing safe accommodation while owners are away. While this suits some dogs, many active, social and people-oriented dogs benefit from a more enriching environment.
FETCH FarmStay was created to provide dogs with a holiday experience rather than simply a place to stay.
Benefits of FarmStay include:
- Daily supervised exercise and adventures.
- Large open spaces to explore.
- Beach and farm experiences.
- Regular interaction with trained handlers.
- Socialisation with carefully selected dogs.
- Structured enrichment and mental stimulation.
- Purpose-built accommodation.
- A calm and relaxed rural environment.
Many owners tell us their dogs come home happier, fitter and more relaxed after a FarmStay holiday.
Our goal is to provide a safe, enriching and enjoyable experience that supports your dog’s physical, mental and emotional wellbeing while you’re away.
Why is FETCH FarmStay different from other boarding kennels?
Why is FETCH FarmStay different from other boarding kennels?
FETCH FarmStay offers a unique alternative to traditional dog boarding.
Located on our private 100-acre coastal farm approximately one hour north of Auckland, FarmStay provides dogs with freedom, adventure, socialisation and human interaction in a safe, supervised environment.
Unlike many traditional kennels where dogs spend large portions of the day confined to runs, FarmStay dogs enjoy:
- Daily supervised pack adventures.
- Large secure exercise areas.
- Beach walks and farm exploration.
- Purpose-built accommodation.
- Ongoing interaction with trained handlers.
- Structured routines and enrichment.
- Small group management and supervision.
Our goal is for dogs to enjoy their holiday as much as their owners enjoy theirs.
What makes FETCH FarmStay unique?
There are many boarding facilities throughout New Zealand, but few combine:
- Over 20 years of professional dog care experience.

- Professional dog handlers.
- NDHA-trained staff.
- NZQA-recognised dog handling qualifications.
- Structured dog management systems.
- Daily adventure-based enrichment.
- A strong focus on dog welfare and wellbeing.
Since 2005, FETCH has built its reputation around helping dogs live happier, healthier and more fulfilled lives.
FarmStay is the next evolution of that philosophy, providing dogs with a holiday experience designed around adventure, enrichment, exercise and care.
